Administration of the epitope specific antibody blocked the effects of human h-G17 in a mouse gastric pH model. Administration of acid antagonist famotidine or telenzepine neutralize endogenous mouse gastric acid and raise the pH level. Administration of h-G17 abolished this effect. Prior administration of XPA067.06 blocked h-G17 resulting in elevation of gastric pH. The affinity matured antibody XPA067.06 was more effective than the parent antibody.
