The New Gaokao refers to a series of college entrance examination reform initiatives rolled out by the Ministry of Education of China in recent years. These reforms aim to better align with social development needs, advance educational equity and elevate education quality by revising examination content, formats and admission procedures. The New Gaokao sets higher demands on students' independent learning capabilities, encourages interdisciplinary and cross-major learning, allows students to independently choose their intended majors and courses, and emphasizes the selection and cultivation of "top-notch innovative" talents.

Specifically, this dataset takes the core knowledge points of the Chinese language subject during the senior high school final review phase as its starting point. It screens and collects past college entrance examination questions and frequently tested key question types across China, then integrates these materials in line with syllabus requirements and the progress of class hours, thereby forming the "Required Exam Point Dataset for Senior Year Final Review of Chinese Language Subject under the New Gaokao".
