Molecular Identification of Tetrahymena thermophila MDL1 (Mucocyst Discharge with a LamG domain)

An MDL1 mutant line was obtained from a forward genetic screen.Mapping-by-sequencing was then used to identify the underlying mutation and, with it, MDL1 molecularly from an allelic contrast analysis between phenotypically Wt and Mut F2 pools descended from the original MDL1 mutant line.
