Queensland Plant Pathology Herbarium and Culture Collection

Established in 1901, the Queensland Plant Pathology Herbarium has specimens that represent many known Australian plant-pathogenic microfungi. The collection includes: • a live and permanently preserved culture collection of microfungi; and • a non-living collection of herbarium specimens of obligate plant pathogenic fungi. The herbarium and culture collection plays a role in biosecurity, agricultural research, and biodiscovery by: • accelerating the classification of new microfungi • providing taxonomic support for agriculture and biotechnology. Taxonomic range - Australian plant-parasitic and plant-associated microfungi, as well as entomopathogens. All taxonomic groups with emphasis on plant pathogens in tropical and sub-tropical Australia.
