Portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) data of sediment core-tops and core catcher samples collected from the Semenov Hydrothermal Field region of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge during the RRS James Cook cruises JC224 (March - April 2022) and JC254 (October - November 2023)

Sediment core tops and core catcher samples from coring stations throughout the Semenov Hydrothermal Field region of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge during the RRS James Cook cruises JC224 (March - April 2022) and JC254 (October - November 2023) were collected for geochemical analysis. Samples were prepared in sample cups for portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) measurements at a dedicated workstation within the British Ocean Sediment Core Research Facility (BOSCORF). This dataset includes pXRF elemental concentrations of the JC224 and JC254 sediment core tops and selected core catcher samples. The data were collected as part of a PhD project funded under NERC's Ultramafic-hosted mineral Resource Assessment (ULTRA) project, grant reference NE/S004068/1, and the sediment cores are currently stored at the BOSCORF for long-term preservation.
