ClimAVA‑SWE: A High‑Resolution CMIP6‑Based Snow Water Equivalent Dataset for the Western United States
收藏资源简介:
ClimAVA‑SWE (Climate data for Adaptation and Vulnerability Assessments – Snow Water Equivalent) is a high‑resolution (4 km) daily snow water equivalent dataset for the western United States, derived from 14 CMIP6 Global Climate Models (GCMs). The dataset provides physically consistent, bias‑corrected, and spatially detailed projections of snow water equivalent, which is a key indicator of water availability, hydrologic extremes, and climate‑related vulnerability in snow‑dominated regions. The dataset covers the period 1981–2100 at a daily temporal resolution and includes projections for three Shared Socioeconomic Pathways: SSP245, SSP370, and SSP585. ClimAVA‑SWE is generated using the Spatial Interactions Downscaling (SPID) framework, a machine‑learning‑based downscaling approach that captures relationships between large‑scale climate patterns and fine‑scale spatial variability. The dataset is organized by climate model; each archive corresponds to a single CMIP6 GCM and contains multiple NetCDF files representing different scenarios and/or time periods. All files are provided in NetCDF‑4 format and include standardized metadata to support reproducibility and reuse. ClimAVA‑SWE is intended to support climate impact studies, hydrologic modeling, water resources planning, and adaptation and vulnerability assessments across the western United States.
