Vegetables infected with viruses

Small RNAs from vegetables with symptomatic virus infection are sequenced. The small RNAs are then compared with human transcriptome. Numerous vegetable endogenous small RNAs and virus-derived small RNAs have high sequence similarity to human genes. However, the history of safe consumption of these vegetables indicates that small RNAs from vegetables have no negative impact on human health.
