资源简介:
The X-ray spectral analysis of new Compton thick (CT-) active galacticnuclei (AGN) represents a fundamental step to understand the physics of theobscuring material surrounding accreting supermassive black holes. Howeverat the present day CT-AGN remain extremely hard to detect. Implementinga previously successful machine learning algorithm we propose to target6 low-redshift candidate CT-AGN from the BAT 150-Month catalog for 30ks of NuSTAR and 25 ks of XMM-Newton time each. This analysis will helpdetermine the true intrinsic fraction of CT-AGN in the local universe andtheir contribution to the Cosmic X-ray Background (CXB). [truncated!
