Environmental Influence on Dahl Salt-Sensitive Rat Gut Microbiota, Hypertension, and Kidney Damage

This study sought to explore the environmental differences in two colonies of Dahl salt-sensitive rats maintained in separate facilities (Medical College of Wisconsin versus Charles River Laboratories), and explore potential changes to the gut microbiome as cause for the drastic divergence in their hypertensive and renal disease phenotype.
