Wind Power Cannibalization in Europe - Processed Data

Dataset overview This repository contains the final data used in the study of wind power cannibalization across Europe for the period 2015-2024. All files represent post-processed outputs. Raw inputs and intermediate processing files are intentionally excluded due to size and permission constraints. Spatial resolution: 0.25° × 0.25° Temporal resolution: Hourly Coordinate system: WGS84 (EPSG:4326) Time period: 2015-2024 Geographic coverage: Europe --- Details All data are provided in NetCDF (.nc) format latitude–longitude grid covering continental Europe. 1. gridded wind power generation potential (Europe-wind-power-{YEAR}.nc) derived from ERA5 reanalysis wind fields and a representative onshore wind turbine power curve. - wind power potential (kw) 2. wind capture price (merged_capture_price_{YEAR}.nc)Provided variables include:- capture prices (EUR/MWh) 3. wind value factor (VF) data (value_factor_merged_{YEAR}.nc)- value factor (dimensionless) --- Notes on completeness and reuse All files included in this repository correspond to the **final merged datasets** used in the associated analysis. No additional preprocessing is required to reproduce the reported results and figures. Raw ERA5 data and wholesale electricity price and wind share are publicly available from their original providers and are not redistributed here.
