Genome Sequencing of Freshwater Escherichia Isolates from the Macatawa Watershed

As part of long term monitoring of the Macatawa Watershed (Holland, MI, USA) in support of community-based remediation efforts of the hypereutrophic Lake Macatawa, Escherichia strains have been isolated from river, stream and lake surface water sites in all seasons. Genome sequencing of thousands of freshwater isolates of Escherichia is being conducted to provide opportunities for population level investigation of this diverse genus.
