miRNAs have received much attention in the past several years. They have been proven to play important role in the neurodegenerative disease. To identify miRNAs specifically expressed in OPIDN, the expression of lncRNAs in spinal cord obtained from hens with OPIDN were compared with spinal cord obtained from control using NGS. In this study, six samples from hens with OPIDN and healthy hens in control were used to acquire the miRNA expression profiling and the function of the abundant miRNAs in the spinal cord were analyzed by bioinformatic methods. Finally, gga-miR-144-3p, gga-miR-6586-5p, gga-miR-6609-3p, gga-miR-1456-5p, gga-miR-6582-3p, gga-miR-3538, gga-miR-1434 and gga-miR-214 were experimentally validated to play important roles in OPIDN.
