Determination of insect prevelance within areas of a higher litter coverage or within close proximitiy to adult or sapling trees

Experiment begins at the location Danby woodlot located on York University Campus within the forested area. Quadrats are placed on the north side of 100 trees; 50 saplings and 50 adults. Each time quadrat is placed, the number of insects are counted, regardless of species, over the course of 3 minutes upon placing of quadrat. Disturbance of litter is permited, as long as litter coverage is estimated prior to disturbance. Litter coverage in percentage within quadrat is estimated as well via dissection method mentioned in meta data. Trees that have been used are marked with flagging tape to prevent overlap.
