3DEM dataset from a mouse hippocampus injected with rAAV to express ChR2-GFP and mAPEX2

3DEM dataset acquired from the hippocampal area CA1 (stratum radiatum) from an acute slice prepared from a mouse injected with rAAV to express ChR2-GFP and mAPEX2. Presynaptically expressed ChR2-GFP was used for optical induction of late-phase long-term potentiation in a subset of CA3-CA1 synapses in the acute slice. After chemical fixation of the slice, mAPEX2 was used to label the ChR2-GFP expressing axons for 3DEM reconstruction. This dataset consists of the following 3 parts: (1) unaligned tSEM images (8 bit tiff); (2) 3DEM series (aligned tSEM images and trace files) for analysis using the Reconstruct software; (3) A movie of a labeled axon traced in Reconstruct.
