We studied the microbial diversity in streamed mesocosms at two depths (superficial and hyporheic sediments) by using a DNA and RNA barcoded amplicon based approach. Our aim was to stand out the effect of imposed hydrological constrains (dry phases and rewetting) on streambed biofilms. Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic markers were used. Experiments were conducted in the laboratory at controlled temperature conditions.
