Induced defense response in citrus leaves against Diaporthe citri

In the present study, the transcriptome profiles of the mandarin (Citrus reticulata cv. Hongjv) leaves inoculated with Diaporthe. citri were analyzed by RNA-Seq technology in an attempt to elucidate ontogenic resistance mechanisms of citrus to D. citri attacking. This study also provides insights on the transcription pattern of citrus at the two infection stages (early and late) after D. citri challenge. Overall, the findings of this study provide helpful information for further understanding the defense mechanism of citrus against D. citri, with the aim of developing future means for controlling citrus melanose.
