Subglacial topography of Coats Land records post-Gondwanan landscape evolution and early ice-sheet behaviour in East Antarctica: Datasets

This dataset contains grid files and ESRI shapefiles generated for the following publication: Paxman, G. J. G., Jordan, T. A., Bentley, M. J., Small, D., Jamieson, S. S. R., Steinhage, D. 2025. Subglacial topography of Coats Land records post-Gondwanan landscape evolution and early ice-sheet behaviour in East Antarctica. Under review in Journal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface. The dataset contains the following files: bed_elev.grd: bed elevation grid file derived from picked measurements along radar survey lines. bed_roughness.grd: bed roughness grid file (root mean square deviation of bed elevation within a 1600 m moving window). bed_elev_rebounded.grd: bed elevation grid file rebounded for ice-sheet unloading. CoatsLandGeomorphology1km.shp (and ancillary files: .dbf, .prj, .shx): ESRI shapefile of the boundaries of the macro-scale geomorphological features mapped using radio-echo sounding data and the grid files above. Each feature has a polygon geometry, with a vertex spacing of ~1 km. CoatsLand_ridges_1km.shp (and ancillary files: .dbf, .prj, .shx): ESRI shapefile of the subglacial ridges and valleys within the highlands of Coats Land mapped using the RADARSAT RAMP AMM-1 SAR image mosaic and ground-truthed using radio-echo sounding data. In the attributes, an id of 1 denotes ridges, and 2 denotes valleys. Each feature has a polyline geometry, with a vertex spacing of ~1 km.
