Manatee Speed Zones

Overview This service presents the spatial extent of manatee-related speed zones and boating safety zones for the Manatee Sighting App. It provides mapped polygon areas with symbology based on zone classification and supports map display, querying, and data access. Layers Manatee Speed Zones — polygon areas representing speed management zones, with popup access to zone name, final zone designation, speed information, and area measurements. Boating Safety Zones — polygon areas representing boating safety restriction zones, symbolized by restriction category and available for interactive queries. County Boundary — the county boundary polygon used to frame the local area covered by the service. Characteristics The service visualizes polygon features that define regulated water-use areas associated with manatee protection and boating safety. Zone information is presented with unique value symbology for restriction categories and simple symbology for the other mapped areas. Popups surface zone identifiers and supporting attributes such as speed, restriction, acreage, perimeter, and shape measurements. Temporal summary The layers are mapped as static features and the service does not present time-based filtering or animation. Geographic Coverage The service covers a local coastal area in Florida within the county boundary shown in the map extent, using the NAD 1983 HARN StatePlane Florida East coordinate reference system.
