Effects of exogenous methionine on methyl cycle metabolites levels in <i>M</i>. <i>oryzae Δmet6</i> mutants and wild type.

Wild type M. oryzae isolate P1.2 was grown in liquid medium in absence (MM) or presence of 1 mM methionine (MM + Met) for 8 days. Δmet6 mutants (M15.1, M22.1 and M23.1) were grown in liquid MM supplemented with 1 mM methionine (MM + Met) for 8 days. SAM and SAH were quantified by HPLC as described in Materials and Methods. Data were expressed in nmoles.mg-1 dry weight and represent the mean ± standard deviation of 8 technical assays derived from three biological replicates. Fold changes** (Δmet6 / P1.2 MM + Met) was calculated using average value of the three mutant lines over wild type. °Differences are significant according to a t-test (5%).
