This study used pre-existing datasets collected in a population of hihi (Notiomystis cincta) on Tiritiri Matangi Island (Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand), collected for three cohorts of juvenile birds between 2015-2017. Social associations were quantified via repeated observations recording spatiotemporal proximity, to determine a social network for each cohort; relatedness between each juvenile dyad and individual-level inbreeding were determined via a genetic pedigree maintained by co-author P. Brekke; natal nest proximity and fledge date similarity between each juvenile was determined via yearly population monitoring of established nestboxes. There are three files associated with this dataset. README.txt: text file containing details of all variables in the datasheets and R code file for all main analyses. Terms for the variables correspond to the column names in the datasheets. dyadic.associations.analysis_MolEcol_dataset1: data on pairwise social associations, including relatedness between each pair of individuals, and proximity between natal nestboxes. Conatins all three cohorts by year. Excel file. inbreeding.analysis_MolEcol_dataset2: data on individual social behaviour, inbreeding scores of the individual and its mother, social father, and genetic father. Excel file with three tabs - one for each cohort (2015, 2016, 2017).
