Images from an Archaeological Trial Trench Evaluation at Cliff Road, Hornsea, East Riding of Yorkshire, October 2022

This digital archive comprises images from an archaeological trial trenching evaluation on Land off Cliff Road, Hornsea. The work was undertaken in October 2022, by Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd, who were commissioned by SEP construction services Ltd. The evaluation consisted of the excavation of 10 trial trenches across the development area that would sample the site in advance of building 66 dwellings Three ditches in total were found across the site two of which are most likely associated with post medieval and modern agricultural use of the land. One ditch contained later prehistoric pottery and may show the continuation of nearby prehistoric activity within the bounds of this site.
