This file contains data on red fox survival and mortality causes in Sweden and Norway between 2011 and 2018. The data columns are:"FoxID": The name of the fox"ID": Numerical ID based on the row number"SEX": The sex of the fox "AGE_orig": Estimated age at capture, either young of the year (subadult) or adult."AREA": The are where the fox was captured"CAUSE": The cause of exit."CENS": Binary 1 = True mortality, 0 = transmitter failure"week_start": The date of capture"row_index" : Row number in the data file "iso_week" : Week of the year when captured"iso_year": Year of capture"fox_week": The week number for the fox year starting at week 35"capture_year": Year of capture"AGE": Age at the observed week"cumulative_week": The cumulative week in the study for each individual"sw": Start week in fox-weeks"ew": End week in fox-weeks"AGE_bin": 1 = SA (subadult), 0 = AD (adult) — reference = adult"SEX_bin" 1 = Male, 0 = Female — reference = female"season_linear": fox_week as continuous (1–52) — best-fitting season coding"season_binary": 1 = spring/summer (fox wk 18–52), 0 = autumn/winter"season4": 4-level factor (autumn/winter/spring/summer) Data were curated by Tomas.Willebrand@inn.no, and used in a Cox Proportional Hazard Analysis in addition to tabulating the different mortality causes. Ann (two collars, no interruption) → merged into one continuous record# 2. Frans, Gunilla, Ingvar, Oskar, Cristina → two separate intervals (recapture)# 3. Cristina1 (SA) and Cristina2 (AD) → different age class per interval# 4. Foxes with < 14 days tracking excluded (Gunilla1, Källsvedan, Oskar2, Stiga)# 5. CENS = 0 → right-censored; CENS = 1 → known mortality event# 6. Fox year starts at ISO week 36 (early September)# 7. SA reclassified to AD after ISO week 35 in the calendar year following capture# 8. Season coded as continuous fox_week (1–52), fox week 1 = ISO week 36
