NRS-489 | Reports of inspection of fire stations by members of the Board [of Fire Commissioners]

This series contains the reports on fire stations and brigades by members of the Board of Fire Commissioners for country towns and districts, and suburban stations, which are presented at the meetings of the Board. The Board visited country centres and met the personnel of the Brigades and members of the shire council, to obtain first-hand knowledge of any problem or requirement so far as the efficient working of the Brigade was concerned. The reports outline many of the Board's policies, such as the importance of the Brigade during World War II in relation to the "Scorched Earth Policy". The reports also include statistical and written data on personnel, retaining fees, financial statements, levies contributed by the shire councils and so on. (20/14884-91). 8 boxes.
