Empathie in der Musiktherapie – ein Mythos? Empathy in Music Therapy – a Myth?

Ausgehend von einem mehrdimensionalen Empathiebegriff, der sowohl emotionale als auch kognitive Verstehensvorgänge einbezieht und im Zusammenhang mit neurophysiologischen Vorgängen zu sehen ist, wird Empathie als ein intrapsychischer und interpersoneller Prozess verstanden, der auf Wechselseitigkeit und Intersubjektivität beruht und die Anerkennung des Unkommunizierbaren einschließt. Dieser Ansatz wird in Bezug auf eine soziale Extremsituation und auf die Haltung des Therapeuten beim Improvisieren mit einer Therapiegruppe angewandt. Starting from a multi-dimensional empathy concept, which draws from an understanding of emotional, as well as cognitive processes, and viewed in relationship to neurophysiological processes, empathy is understood as an intrapsychic and interpersonal process, based on reciprocity and intersubjectivity and including the recognition of that which is incommunicable.
