Crossref entities from documents first indexed in the SLUB catalog

This data set contains reference metadata for the Crossref members, prefixes, and journals linked with documents first indexed in the SLUB catalog between 2022 and 2024. It serves as a lookup companion for the following bibliographic data sets: Crossref documents first indexed in the SLUB catalog in 2022 (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.17578429) Crossref documents first indexed in the SLUB catalog in 2023 (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.17578445) Crossref documents first indexed in the SLUB catalog in 2024 (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.17578454) While the bibliographic data sets contain the specific works (articles, books, etc.), this collection provides the metadata for the entities referenced within those works. Methodology The identifiers for members, prefixes, and journals were extracted from the three source data sets. The metadata for these entities was then retrieved from the Crossref REST API and the Crossref Title File. While Crossref assigns unique IDs to journals, the works in Crossref link to journals via International Standard Serial Number (ISSN). Since not all ISSNs found in the source data sets are included in the Crossref Title File, there are references to journals that cannot be resolved using this data set. In contrast, references to members and prefixes can be fully resolved. File Contents The data set consists of three gzip-compressed, line-delimited JSON (JSONL) files: Members File: Contains metadata for 8,129 unique members. Prefixes File: Contains metadata for 8,709 unique DOI prefixes. Journals File: Contains metadata for 40,848 unique journals.
