Analysis of the effect of Pflplat1 on parasite transcropitome in Plasmodium falciparum

Plasmodium falciparum lysophospholipid acyltransferase 1 (Pflplat1)(Accession: PF3D7_1444300) has not been identified and characterized. We established a Pflplat1 DiCre conditional knockout parasite line to search for the function of this enzyme in Plasmodium falciparum. In this systems, target genes flanked by LoxP sequnces was excised in the presence of rapamcin and the expressions of genes was switched off. Several abnormalities were observed in Pflplat1-deficient parasites. Therefore, the RNA-seq was performed using the Pflplat1 transgenic line to elucidate the cause of abnomality. The RNA-seq samples were collected at 24 and 30 housr of post-infection in the presnece or absence of rapamaycin (n = 3 independent biological samples per groups).
