Wollongong radio listening and television viewing, 1982

The aim of this study was to collect general information on radio and television audiences in the Wollongong area. Topics include: radio station listened to most often, reasons for listening to that station, and level of satisfaction; other stations listened to once a week or more; radio stations broadcasting from Wollongong that the respondent would like to hear but can't receive clearly enough; reception results from attempting to tune stations 2OO, 2WL, 2WN, 2CH and 2FC; type of news bulletins (mostly local, news of Australia with some local and overseas news, or mostly overseas with some local and Australian news) that the respondent wants to hear when tuned to a Wollongong station; type of interviews (local, Australian in general, or world-wide interests) that the respondent prefers to hear on Wollongong radio; whether the respondent listens to the Regional News Bulletins on 2WN; video tape recorder ownership; ratings for approximately 70 television programmes; and, a media diary describing radio, television, and video usage plus other activities for a three day period. Background variables include age, sex, occupation and occupational status, level of education, number of persons in household, country of birth and length of time that the respondent has lived in the Wollongong/Illawarra area.
