Overview This Feature Service provides comprehensive geochronologic data for Precambrian rocks primarily located in Minnesota and select adjacent regions. It consists of a single feature layer named "Bedrock dates," which contains detailed published geochronological dates in point format. The data was acquired and compiled by the Minnesota Geological Survey (MGS) and includes references to scientific publications for each sampled location. Feature Layer Bedrock dates: This layer delivers geochronologic information about Precambrian bedrock samples identified by sample names and interpreted geological age, alongside dating methods applied. The dataset includes geological context such as the rock unit, province or terrane, and broader geologic system. Each point is supplemented with detailed notes, county location, and full reference citations, supporting both scientific research and resource management.
