Canadian National Bird Conservation Survey

The North American Waterfowl Management Plan (NAWMP) is an international agreement between the Governments of Canada, the United States, and Mexico to coordinate the conservation and restoration of wetlands, associated uplands, and other key habitats for waterfowl and other bird species. In an effort to understand public support of NAWMP goals, we conducted a national survey of Canadians, and asked about their perspectives on bird and habitat conservation. This research was approved by the University of Alberta’s Research Ethics Board (reference: Pro00112000). All participants provided informed consent prior to commencing the survey.
