potential debris flows

The dataset shows the potential flow paths and ranges of simulated debris flows along the German rail network. This product of the potential debris flows is the result of the research project "Analysis of rapid water-containing mass movements: Nationwide investigations on the exposure of the German rail network and modelling of spatial spread" of the Federal Railway Office in the context of the work of the BMDV expert network in the field of climate change effects and adaptation (bmdv-expert network.de). The factual information and hazard classes are provided exclusively for the adjacent area of the rail infrastructure. The potential simulated debris flows are shown in gradation of size according to small, medium and large events (see final report of the project on the dzsf website (www.dzsf.bund.de)). Value 1 = small event, 2 = medium event, 3 = large event. The following applies to the size of the simulated cubatures: <100 m3: small event 100–1'000 m3: mean event ≥ 1'000 m3: large event The record does not represent the probability of occurrence of the events. Existing protective measures and thus secured areas were not taken into account in the modelling.
