Drivers of TCs in the SWIO based on 5 CMIP6 Models

This dataset provides monthly mean zonal (ua) and meridional (va) wind components on standard atmospheric pressure levels from CMIP6 global climate models. It covers both the historical period (1959–2000) and the high-emission SSP585 scenario (2060–2100). The data are extracted for the Southwest Indian Ocean (SWIO) domain to enable detailed investigations of tropical cyclone (TC) environmental conditions, including: Vertical wind shear (computed from ua and va differences between upper- and lower-troposphere) Steering flow patterns relevant for TC tracks and propagation Large-scale circulation changes under a warming climate The included CMIP6 models are: ACCESS-CM2 CIESM CMCC-ESM2 INM-CM5-0 MPI-ESM1-2-LR Files are distributed in NetCDF format and follow the CMIP6 “Amon” frequency (Atmosphere, monthly). Each file corresponds to one model experiment on its native grid (gn, gr, or gr1).
