Dataset Organization and Navigation This repository contains high-resolution X-ray diffraction (HXRD) data compressed into the HDF5 (".h5") format for optimized storage and fast access. To navigate the dataset, you will use the provided master logbook (Excel file called EuAl4_DESY.xlsx) in conjunction with the compressed ".h5" data archives. 1. The Master Logbook (".xlsx") The provided Excel file serves as the master index for all measurements. It contains the metadata and physical conditions for every scan. Column A ("Filename_prefix"): Identifies the experimental series or sample (e.g., "hxrd_eual4_s3_"). This corresponds to the name of the master ".h5" file you need to download and open.Column B ("#"): The specific scan/run number (e.g., "00016"). Columns C–F: The physical parameters for that specific scan, including Temperature (K), Magnetic field (T), Nominal Strain (degrees), and Current (A) of the magnetc. 2. The Data Files (".h5") Instead of tousends of individual ".cbf" files, the raw detector images have been consolidated into master HDF5 files based on their "Filename_prefix". Inside each ".h5" file, individual scans are stored as internal 3D datasets (NumPy arrays).The name of the internal dataset is typically a combination of the "Filename_prefix" and the run "#" (for example: "hxrd_eual4_s3_atten_4_00016"). 3. How to Find and Extract Specific Data If you want to find the data for a specific physical condition, follow these steps:1. Open the Excel logbook and find your desired condition (e.g., Temperature = 3 K, Magnetic Field = 2 T).2. Note the Filename_prefix (e.g., "hxrd_eual4_s3_") and the scan # (e.g., "00016") for that row.3. Download the corresponding ".h5" file from this repository.4. Open the ".h5" file and load the dataset associated with that scan number.
