Bleb Model Sub-aperture Images

The Lytro Illum camera stores data in the .LFR format, which cannot be directly used or displayed without prior processing. The LFToolBox application can process this data, decoding it into a 15x15 grid of sub-aperture images with a resolution of 434x626 pixels. However, the resolution and quality of these sub-aperture images remain suboptimal. Lytro provides a proprietary application, Lytro Desktop, which includes the Editable Living Picture feature. This feature generates seven sub-aperture images with a known angular distribution (u,v), as specified in the accompanying ‘stack.lfp’ file. These sub-aperture images are arranged with one central image, while the others are evenly distributed around it at an angular distance of 60°. Although the number of sub-aperture images produced by the Editable Living Picture feature is limited, the resulting images exhibit superior color quality and a higher resolution of 2022x1404 pixels. For this reason, we chose to utilize this data in our study.
