In 2019, homes of relatives or friends were the most popular accommodations for domestic holiday trips in Italy. Data show that about 34 percent of travels included a stay in these accommodations. Moreover, hotels were the second most popular type of accommodation, as trips with hotel stays accounted for 32 percent of all domestic holidays in 2019.
