Hepatic Transcriptome Perturbations in Dairy Cows Fed Different Forage Resources

The objective of the present study was to investigate the effect of different forage resources on liver metabolism using RNAseq. Thirty-two healthy lactating Holstein cows were selected and divided into two groups based on average daily milk yield, body weight and days in milk. The experiment lasted for 14 weeks with the randomized block design was used. Groups were randomly assigned to a mixed forage diet or corn stover diet . A subgroup of cows (n = 5/diet) was randomly selected for analysis of liver transcriptome profile.
