NRS-19346 | Letter book [Wentworth Crown Land Agent’s Office]

This register consists of handwritten copies of letters sent from the Wentworth Crown Land Agent’s Office and the Wentworth Police Court. The register was first used  at the start of 1862. Subjects include: Acknowledgement of receipt of Correspondence regarding Land Advertised for Sale, and Land Improvements; Acknowledgement of receipt of a printed circular accompanying instructions under new Crown Lands Act; Acknowledgement of Receipt of Book containing forms of Licenses for Cutting Timber; Acknowledgement of receipt of correspondence accompanying a hardwood licence, which had been endorsed; Letters regarding decisions about a particular piece of land, and application to build a residence; Acknowledgement of receipt of letters and the reply to letters and letters requesting to withdraw from sale particular allotments, and receipt of money paid. Abstracts of land sales are also recorded, as is financial correspondence relating to land sales and rent paid as well as other similar correspondence relating to Crown Lands.
