We found that growth-promoted and -inhibited doses of ZnONPs were lower than Zn2+ for the similar seedling phenotype. Furthermore, the promotive ZnONP-treated seedlings accumulated more Zn content than Zn2+-treated in the leaves. Comparative transcriptomic and metabolomics analyses revealed thatThis study suggests that ZnONPs may serve as effective regulators for Zn biofortification and provide new insights into using nanoparticles for improving crop quality.
