We propose XMM-Newton observations of 6 regions of the Large Magellanic Cloud with the strongest d_commacleand_comma star-formation openParSFclosePar episodes in the virgul6-50 Myr age range. These observations will probe the X-ray source populations in regions of different stellar content down to a luminosity of virgul10elev33 erg-s in our nearest star-forming galaxy thus addressing their dependence on their parent stellar populations openParstarburst age comma metallicity etc.closePar The proposed observations will complement previous X-ray studies of the LMC and investigations in other galaxies where these faint XRBs cannot be observed.
