Structured Dataset of 174 Classical Chinese Herbal Formulas

This dataset was developed under the framework of the major project of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences' Innovation Program—Study on the Decomposition-Based Efficacy Prediction Model for Chinese Formulas under Big Data Context (Project No. CI2021A00508). It includes 174 classical Chinese herbal formulas selected from authoritative textbooks of Fangji Xue (Formulas of Chinese Medicine). Only formulas with clearly defined composition—including Emperor, Minister, Assistant, and Envoy herbs (Jun, Chen, Zuo, Shi)—and explicit dosage information were included. Reference textbooks include Fangji Xue (4th Edition, New Century), Fangji Xue (3rd Edition), and Fangji Xue for TCM Majors.All formulas in the dataset have undergone standardization procedures. Herb names and dosage units were standardized in accordance with the Pharmacopoeia of the People’s Republic of China (2020 edition).
