资源简介:

This dataset was the basis for visualization and simulations of automated alternating sampling of ambient particulate matter (PM) with an inlet switching system that enables collection of PM in two size classes (PM10 and PM2.5, particles with aerodynamic diameter d < 10 and < 2.5 micrometer). The dataset consists of time series of element concentrations in aerosols collected in London in 2012 (ClearfLo campaign, Marylebone Road), and in Beijing in 2017. The London samples were collected with a 3-stage rotating drum impactor (RDI), which simultaneously collects and segregates PM into three size classes. These time series were used to simulate alternating sampling on two size classes. The Beijing data were collected with the inlet switching system attached to an Xact 625i ambient metals monitor. They show what can be achieved with the described inlet switching system. The data is stored in an Igor Pro experiment "sampling_simulator_data.pxp", which requires the Igor Pro software (Wavemetrics Inc.) to open it. The experiment contains the data and the macros or procedures to simulate the effects of alternating sampling on the PM2.5/PM10 ratios. It also contains the data used for some of the figures in a technical note published in Atmospheric Environment:X, (Furger et al. 2020).
