Wolbachia bacteria are maternally-inherited endosymbionts found in a large number of arthropod species. They manipulate their host reproduction to facilitate their transmission in populations. Here we sequenced the DNA of different tissues for multiple females of the terrestrial isopod Armadillidium vulgare, with the aim to study the intra-host genetic diversity of its Wolbachia endosymbiont (wVulC strain).
