This series provides an index to the Register Of Approved Orders For Crown Grants, Section 56 Land Act 1884 and 1890. Details given are the number in the register, the name of the grantee and the page upon which the entry appears.Section 56 of the Land Act 1884 and 1890 provided that lessees who had received advances of money on the security of the lease could give an order that person might take delivery of the grant once all rents and fees were paid. Once consent had been given by the Board of Land and Works, the grant in the lessee's name was to be delivered to the person name in the order. Where a legal mortgage was in effect, the mortgage was to be endorsed by the Registrar of Titles as a legal encumbrance on the grant.
