These commercial fishing blocks are the primary index for locating commercial catch reported to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife by landing receipt or log book record. Catch data from the Marine Landings Data System (MLDS), the (discontinued) Commercial Fishing Information System (CFIS), and the Marine Log System (MLS) will reference the spatial units found in this file. This is an updated collection of blocks effective starting Jan 1, 2025, as specified in California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Section 190.
