资源简介:
Culture: [Egyptian](http://vocab.getty.edu/page/aat/300020251) Material: Bronze Dims: H 19cm Accession No: MG 006 Current Location: [The Hunt Museum](https://www.huntmuseum.com/), [Limerick](https://www.geonames.org/7778675/limerick-city.html). This [statuette](http://vocab.getty.edu/page/aat/300312262), a standing hawk, is a typical form of the Egyptian God Horus. Hollow eye sockets were for a precious stone or metal inlay. The surface would have been highly polished and possibly overlaid with precious metal. From the seventh-century BC a vast number of bronze figurines of deities were produced in Egypt. Realistic statutory was common in the [Late Period](http://vocab.getty.edu/page/aat/300020252) and fine metalwork used gold, silver and bronze. Subterranean galleries packed with [mummified](http://vocab.getty.edu/page/aat/300262951) falcons were found at sites including [Saqqara](https://www.geonames.org/349608/saqqarah.html).
