In this study, we aim to understand the regulatory role of miR-29a in differential expression of genes and pathways associated with PDAC. Functional validation of the top candidate miR-29a targets identified from the RNASeq data delineates novel PDAC pathways paving the way for the development of de novo therapeutic strategies for PDAC treatment. Overall design: Comparison of the transcriptional status of control vs. miR-29a overexpressing (OE) cells in two different PDAC cell lines (Panc-1 and MIA PaCa-2) identifies differentially expressed genes in each dataset. Overlapping targets from the two datasets were then considered for further analyses.
