资源简介:

This thesis aims to investigate the electroencephalogram (EEG) characteristics, neuropathological correlations, surgical outcomes, and quality of life (QoL) in patients with focal epilepsy, focusing on malformations of cortical development (MCDs). This thesis provides a comprehensive understanding of how specific EEG features, radiological findings, and surgical interventions relate to diagnosis, pathology, and quality of life in focal epilepsy. Specific EEG features aid in detecting subtle MCDs and guiding surgery for improved outcomes. An enlarged amygdala does not influence surgical outcomes or correlate with tissue abnormalities. Finally, epilepsy surgery significantly enhances QoL, with seizure reduction being the key factor in such improvement.
