Summary of SPT models of shark abundance.

SPT1 models approach the additive effects of year and month with independent smooth functions, whereas SPT2 models approach the interacting effects of year and month with the same smooth function. Included are the species names, the predictor variables, the effective degrees of freedom (edf) and reference degrees of freedom (Ref.df), the χ2-statistics value (Chi.sq), the p-value, the adjusted coefficient of determination (R2adj), and the percentage of null deviance explained by the model (Dev.exp.).
