Cases consisted of patients that were (1) diagnosed with a primary oral cavity, oropharyngeal, hypopharyngeal, laryngeal cancer, (2) were over 17 years of age, and (3) had at least one first or second degree relative who was diagnosed with a head and neck cancer. Controls consisted of individuals who had never been diagnosed with cancer and were over 17 years of age.]]> Cases were identified within multi-case high-risk head and neck pedigrees ascertained through the Utah Population Database (UPDB). Cases consisted of affected individuals having one or more first- or second-degree relative diagnosed with head and neck cancer.]]>
