资源简介:
The Operational Significant Event Imagery (OSEI) team of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) produces high-resolution, detailed imagery of significant environmental events which are visible in remotely-sensed data available at the NOAA Science Center in Suitland, Maryland. These events include dust storms, fire events, flood events, iceberg events, ocean events, severe weather, tropical storms, snow cover, storm systems, tropical cyclones, hurricanes, and typhoons, and volcano events.
OSEI produces a Daily Operational Significant Event Imagery Report (DOSEIR) which outlines the events that the team has captured in satellite imagery. The report provides a direct link to each image and describes each image with a short narrative. The report is available Monday through Friday as an email via subscription or on the OSEI web site at [http://www.osei.noaa.gov/].
At the OSEI web site, there are links to subdirectories for each category of event tracked by OSEI. Users can download images and access imagery archives from these subdirectories. OSEI occasionally creates special coverage pages that follow particularly significant events and best of OSEI pages which showcase some of the more striking imagery.
