The differential deposition and elevation changes of soil are crucial factors influencing the transformation of wetland ecological functions. However, knowledge regarding the impact of soil particles and elevation on microbial communities and related nutrient cycles remains limited. In this study, two soil-collection areas with different sedimentary environments in Poyang Lake, China, were selected, and samples were collected from the lake's center to its shore.
